Family Stewardship

Family Stewardship: Restoring Dominion and Stewardship to the Family

The short answer

Family stewardship is the work of a family holding, growing, and passing on its own resources by its own skill and decisions, generation after generation. Assets are what determines a family's ability to migrate to the Land of Wealth, and strong bonds within and between generations carry the family forward. The Spacious Place designs 100% family controlled trust architecture so stewardship stays in the family, beginning with a Family Legacy Trust written for your house for $3,000.

“The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.”

Psalm 16:6

The Land of Wealth

Scott's journal page, The Land of Wealth, begins with where real wealth comes from. These lines are his.

“Income is not typically the best means for creating or preserving real wealth.”

“Building up a reservoir of assets provides the safety, security, and opportunity that form a sense of abundance.”

“Assets are what determines a family's ability to migrate to the Land of Wealth.”

Stewardship begins when a family stops measuring itself by income and starts building a reservoir it can keep.

“To be a steward in the biblical idea is to be set free to manage your own household and we believe that family should be stewards of their own resources.”

Money as income or money as an asset

Some families are raised around wealth yet steward little of it. Scott names the result plainly:

“Many natives' relationship with their family's money is distant, passive, or resentful due to disenfranchisement or suspension.”

“Money arrives with little connection to its source.”

“… a dependent mindset of thinking of money as income, rather than money as an asset to be carefully stewarded by your own skill and decisions.”

Stewardship turns money back into an asset the family tends with its own hands.

“… without these exorbitant, ongoing management fees. Because we're giving you back your stewardship.”

Generational stewardship: G1, the bridge generation, and beyond

Scott's journal marks each generation by its place on the family's journey:

  • G1: generation who makes the family's original migration to wealth, pioneers. When the question is asked who originally brought the family into the Land of Wealth, history book opens at G1.
  • G2: offspring of G1. Their adjustment depends largely on their age at time of migration (under 5, 6 to 12, 13+). “Bridge generation.” Navigate between family's middle class heritage and adoptive culture of wealth.
  • G3, G4, and on: fully native. Land of Wealth will remain their land of nativity due to assets held in trust.

“The journey of the family must cross the bridge generation if it is going to continue successfully beyond.”

“We believe in radical self dominion, self governance over your own affairs, taking radical responsibility over everything in your life.”

Strong bonds within and between generations

Families who leave economic hardship behind do two things. The first is the bond between the generations.

“Strong bonds within or between generations often hold the key to a family's success in leaving economic hardship behind.”

Bonds are built at the table, in the everyday work of a family that stewards together.

Apprenticing the next generation

The second is apprenticeship. Each generation learns stewardship by holding it.

“We've lost in our Western culture in modern times, we've lost the family apprenticeship.”

“They create strong bonds within and between generations, and they apprentice the generation to steward the family by building a 100% family controlled architecture.”

“You can still keep the apprenticeship model of the next generation within the family by having your Private Family Trust Company and your trust set up, where they can become a part of the board of sacred stewards and you're still getting that generational legacy transfer and apprenticeship.”

“It preserves apprenticeship, family apprenticeship, and a family council without having to just do the same trade.”

“Our architecture is purely 100% family controlled, designed to restore dominion, stewardship, and control back to where it belongs and was designed by God to be held: in the family.”

“For most everyday families, we believe that the best stewards, truly, for your resources and the biblical call is for you to steward the resources God has given you. You're the best trustee for your family affairs. And particularly when it comes to family, you're the only one who should be stewarding it.”

That is why The Spacious Place builds the Family Legacy Trust and the Dynasty Architecture around the family as its own steward. In the Dynasty Architecture, the family's own Wyoming Private Family Trust Company serves as trustee. For how this lives inside a Christian house, read The Christian Family Legacy Trust.

How our family practices stewardship

These practices come from Scott's journal page of October 8, 2026, kept in his words. They describe our own house only.

  • Accepted Dominion: led to freedom.
  • Switched from contracts to covenant living: a family legacy trust.
  • Courted wisdom. Wisdom is more precious than gold. In all your getting, get wisdom.
  • Moved into private: didn't post, didn't share, boundaries with grandparents/inlaws.
  • Went all in on our family: present at every game, … dinner as a family every night.

For our house, covenant living means holy matrimony, nativity, and a family legacy trust that the family itself stewards.
